North West Cadet Girls Team came away with Gold at the weekend. The Team consisted of 5 out of the 7 players from SKK, excellent performance by all.

Owen Goes To Japan

Owen Livesey  travelled to Japan on 22.05.10 for 6 weeks training along with 3 other juniors from the GB Team. This is Owens first time in Japan and will most certainly gain valuable experience from this trip.

International Judo Cadet Championships of Madrid

Bekky Livesey U63kg Silver,Bekky won 4 fights by ippon taking her to the final which she lost by ippon with a drop sode.This was Bekkys  first trip away with GB so great result for her.

Paris Training Camp

Owen Livesey has travelled to Paris to watch the 1st Grand Slam of 2010  Paris Tournament and is staying on to do the training camp which follows the tournament with some of the best players in the world this should be a great experience for him.

Skk Players travelled to Czarni Bytom, Poland for the Liberty Cup competition, had a great weekend.Demi James Gold,Lucy Renshall Silver,Bekky Livsey Bronze,Lauren Tye Bronze,Jack Frazer Bronze
Well done to Bekky Livesey who won her 2nd Gold at the Nationals, winning all her 5 fights with ippon. Also Lucy Renshall stormed through to the final narrowly loosing in golden score, Demi James won her first National medal winning a bronze with some impressive judo, also Katie Gabittas and Peter Smith just missed out on a bronze medal coming 5th with excellent judo.

At the weekend Brian Hill and John Imrie from Scotland came to SKK prior to the Nationals for a weekends training with players of all ages, they completed a weekend of fitness, technique,randori and yoga with yoga coach Paul Houghton. Good luck to all entering the nationals this weekend at Sheffield.

Owen Livesey has been selected to represent GB in the Junior World Championships in the U73kg catagory which take place on the 22nd Oct -25th Oct in Paris, he will be fighting on Fri 23rd. As part of Owens preparation he travels to Paris on Mon 5th Oct for 10 days training taking part in a team event during his stay. We wish him luck

North West Closed-25 players entered, all winning medals with 15 qualifying for the national championships.
Owen Livesey travelled to Armenia for the junior Europeans gaining a credible 7th place resulting in him being selected for the junior world championships in Paris at the end of October.
